Writing Samples
Claiming you’re a good writer is easy. Proving you’re a good writer is anything but. Luckily, I have plenty of writing samples to demonstrate just what I’m capable of.
Cloudhouse Technologies
Cloudhouse Technologies is a cloud-based IT solutions company with two main product offerings: Alchemy, which repackages legacy applications for use on modern operating systems; and Guardian, which allows for the monitoring of enterprise networks to ensure computers are kept up to configuration and security standards.
At Cloudhouse, I document both products, writing developer and end-user content for each. Here is an example:
Hosting Guardian in Azure: This guide walks IT administrators through the process of configuring their Microsoft Azure tenant to host an instance of Guardian.
Mural
Mural is a digital collaboration platform that offers Enterprise-level features and functionality to foster greater employee engagement, brainstorming, and contribution in a remote landscape.
At Mural, I focused on writing feature and developer documentation for two audiences: Mural administrators/developers and Mural end-users (collaborators). Here are some examples:
SCIM examples: This developer guide walks through several examples of SCIM API calls that Mural supports.
Configure SSO with Mural and Okta: This guide shows company administrators how to connect Mural with the single sign-on Identity Provider Okta. (PDF)
Automated SCIM provisioning: This guide shows company administrators how to automate user management in Mural. (PDF)
Express yourself with reactions: This guide shows end-users how to broadcast reactions within Mural. (PDF)
Add links to a mural: This guide shows end-users how to add outside URLs to their collaboration. (PDF)
Voting sessions: This guide shows end-users how to run, participate in, and review decision-making or polling sessions in Mural. (PDF)
Unqork
Unqork is a cloud-based platform offering a drag-and-drop no-code application builder for developers. Unqork takes common developer capabilities, such as building APIs, and reimagines them in a no-code environment. Here are some examples of the work I created for Unqork:
Use Case - Building Modal Actions: This article shows an example use case for a feature in Unqork.
Transpose Operator: This article shows how to use the Transpose Operator in Unqork’s Data Workflow.
Refer strings: This article shows how to build an application that generates a refer string using Unqork’s powerful (but complex!) API capabilities.
How APIs Work: This article serves as a breakdown helping beginner developers understand the concept of APIs, how they work, and how to implement them.
